BUSTED FOR TELLING THE TRUTH: Carpenters Local 971 senior business representative Herb Friedenthal awaits his fate in the back of a Reno police prowler at Park Lane Mall. Shopping Center assistant manager A.J. Cleland can be seen at left rear talking to a Reno police officer. Behind Cleland, wearing a red tie, stands a contract security worker from American Protective Services, the same firm hired earlier this year to displace the Reno Hilton's union security guards. RPD dispatched three cruisers for the trespassing complaint. Friedenthal was cited and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for trial in Reno Municipal Court at 9:00 a.m. December 19. Unfair labor practice charges have been filed with the National Labor Relations Board.
